1. Get Verified
Trust is the foundation of the platform. Before posting a listing, you need to verify your identity: upload a photo of your driver's license and a selfie. After passing verification, a verification badge will appear on your profile – customers significantly trust such hosts more.
2. Create Your Listing Correctly
A good listing means a booked calendar:
- Photos — at least 6–8, taken during the day: front, back, sides, interior, trunk, odometer reading. The more photos, the faster bookings will come;
- Description — write honestly: if there are minor defects, do not hide them, they will be noticed during inspection anyway;
- Documents — upload photos of your vehicle registration certificate (texpasport) and insurance, this increases customer trust.
3. Set Your Price Smartly
Check the prices of similar cars around you and set yours accordingly. Setting a slightly lower price initially to get your first bookings is the fastest way to accumulate positive reviews. Later, as your rating grows, you can increase the price. Demand is higher on weekends and holidays – take this into account.
4. Clearly Write Your Rules
90% of disagreements before each rental arise from unclear rules:
- Deposit amount — let it be proportional to the car's value;
- Cancellation policy — pre-determine what happens if a customer cancels late;
- Restrictions — is smoking allowed, can it be taken outside the city, what is the daily mileage limit.
All of this will appear in the listing and be included in the rental agreement.
5. Conduct an Inspection Before Each Rental
Inspect the car together with the customer and take photos of its condition. Do the same upon return. This habit will protect you from unfounded claims, and in case of a dispute, the Rentoff team will be on your side.
